This site is the archive for the Fractal-Art contests. These
contests were held annually by the online fractal art community,
as an opportunity to have fun and to show the current state of
the art in fractal artwork. The contests were all run by
volunteers, who graciously donated their time, expertise, and
resources to the project.
The 1997 contest also archived here predates the Fractal-Art
contests, and was open only to users of the FractInt software.
The success of that contest led directly to the establishment
of the Fractal-Art contests, which ran uninterrupted through
the year 2000. After that the volunteers moved on to other
projects.
