I wanted to start with a simple image: a plain, full-sized 2D Julia
that could be rendered with Fractint, QuickBasic, or anything else. The
addition of orbit trapping led to the possibility of a metallic,
jewelry-like 3D object. I will be happy to send to anyone who is
interested a simple script in C, compilable as a command-line program
for Intel-based PC's, which can render the initial fractal, with its
gold and silver palette and the orbit trapping coloring algorithm.
